Glow-worm Caves Tamborine Mountain

Glow-worm

The Glow-worm Caves at Cedar Creek Estate Vineyard on the Tamborine Mountain - only a short drive (45 min) from Brisbane - is a fascinating experience and a unique day out for the entire family or tourists.

The man-made cave with its perfect conditions is an ideal habitat for glow-worms which requires a permanently moist environment for their survival. The glow-worm cave measures 32 metres from end-to-end and 4.5 metres at its widest point with around 700 cubic metres of concrete going into the cave structure.

Glow-worms are the larvae (immature stage) of a small fly and they glow to attract small insects.
