The La Boite Theatre in Brisbane was founded in 1925 and is one of the oldest, continuously operating, theatre companies in Australia and features a purpose built, 200-seat theatre in the round.
For over 80 years, the theatre has been the wellspring from which many Queensland artists and companies have been nurtured. The Company has six fantastic productions in 2008 including Australian icon, Ray Lawler's Summer of the Seventeenth Doll. There’s also a play from Australia’s hottest young writer Kate Mulvany The Danger Age, a mad feast of food, music and mayhem in Kitchen Diva, a sweeping saga from Queensland’s influential Matrix Theatre The Wishing Well, a crazy play with a AAA fun rating, Attack of the Attacking Attackers! and a return season of the smash hit comedy, The Narcissist.
