Whale Watching
June 11th 2008 04:55
Watching whales in their native habitat is one of the most exhilarating wildlife encounters and you can do just that right here in Brisbane between the months of July and November each year.
The most common type of whale you will see is the great humpback whale due to it being the most surface active out of all the different breeds of whales. They almost act as if they can spot a crowd of eager onlookers by performing all kinds of skills and tricks from their repertoire including full breaches, slapping their tails and more.
A handful of whale watching vessels complete with viewing decks and indoor floor-to-ceiling glass offer day-long whale spotting trips from Brisbane. Brisbane Whale Watching is one of these tours and they offers luxury whale watching vessel 30 minutes north of Brisbane on the Redcliffe Peninsula.
